According to both definitions of US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention World Health Organization, Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) are a group preventable treatable parasitic, viral, bacterial diseases that affect more than one billion people globally. They generally afflict the indigent patients world historically have not received as much attention other diseases. NTDs tend thrive in low-income regions, where water quality, sanitation access health care substandard. common several countries Africa, Asia, Latin America. In this literature review, we want focus on Human African Trypanosomiasis (HAT), also known “sleeping sickness”, most neglected Africa. It is caused by infection with subspecies parasitic protozoan Trypanosoma brucei , it transmitted bite tsetse fly. puts 70 million at risk throughout sub-Saharan Africa usually fatal if untreated or inadequately treated. This review covers aspects disease. We focused our interests recent epidemiological data, novel diagnostic methods their advantages limitations, new improved treatment orphan drugs eradication programs, including vector control, according “One Health” approach, achieve goals recently set WHO.
